PeaZip is an open source software, free file and archive manager. It's free for any use. PeaZip can extract most archive formats from both the Windows and Unix worlds, from mainstream 7Z, RAR, TAR and ZIP to experimental ones such as the PAQ / LPAQ family, which is currently the most powerful compressor available. PeaZip is an alternative to WinZip and WinRar freeware that provides a complete and elegant versatile file archiver and File Manager Utility for Windows, Linux, and BSD.
The program features a powerful integrated cross-platform GUI that provides the same look and feel under all supported operating systems, and unlike most other classic archive managers, it is portable portable. PeaZip project is based on the 7-Zip proven technology to handle many major archive formats, and other Open Source file compression tools (FreeARC, PAQ, UPX) to support additional file formats and features, and localized in 29 languages.
PeaZip can verify checksums and file hashes, has a safe removal feature, and supports several strong encryption, optionally using two-factor authentication (passwords and keyfiles) to improve security.
This application mainly focuses on security: strong archive encryption, optional two-factor authentication, encrypted password manager, secure data deletion, integration with antivirus and anti-malware to scan compressed files, etc. Tasks created in the GUI can be saved and scheduled as batch scripts, that is to help automate backup / restore operations, or for fine tuning tasks using the flexibility of the console.
The features:
- Free archiver, 150+ file types supported zip files
- Open Source WinZip WinRar alternative rar files
- Encrypt, backup, protect files
